BENT IMAGE LAB is a hybrid animation laboratory and live action production studio where award-winning filmmakers, artists, storytellers, animators, and designers come together to create projects for a diverse clientele. VFX - TECHNICAL DIRECTOR / LEAD ARTIST
4/14/08 Bent Image Lab, Portland Oregon has an immediate need for surface/lighting render TD artist primarily in 3Ds max and V ray. We need someone very adept at special effects realism, and has some exposure to character animation work. Bent's client's include: Office Max, Coke, Geico, Alltell, Tinactin, Microsoft, PBS, Hewlett Packard, Radiohead, and They Might Be Giants.Essential Skills:
3d Studio Max 9, V ray (or similar render package.) Some ability in the following is a plus: Photoshop CS, After Effects, Fume FX, Real Flow, Z-brush, ability to work with CG Hair - all a plus. If you are not familiar with V ray, we accept highly skilled hard workers who light and surface amazing images in other packages, but can adapt and learn quickly to new ones.
Contract work for 6 to 12 weeks duration, perhaps leading to longer employment. Must have exceptional CG/VFX skills, passion, drive and a natural eye for finishing great images with flair.
Must be versatile, flexible and able to work well with others, and willing to do what it takes to make CG look its best. Ability to work with and rig character animation a plus, but not necessary.

The American Media Project is a new nonprofit journalism organization gearing up to produce short video reports about pressing national issues for an influential online audience. We are currently hiring our initial staff and are looking for a producers and associate producers who can research, report, write, shoot and edit video stories, often working as a solo video journalist, sometimes working with teams.
Selected candidate will be responsible for:
Working with print correspondents and senior producers to generate story ideas and produce regular video news reports
Shooting Washington D.C.-based video (interviews and B-roll) on miniDV video cameras with correspondent or independently
Editing on non-linear video editing systems on Adobe Premiere or Final Cut Pro;
