We post contact information for the feature length and episodic projects we are working with as soon as those are available – those can be found on the jobs section of our blog. You might want to check out groups like the OMPA and Desert Island Studios who are both a great resource for local filmmakers and the filmmaking community. We also sometimes post stories on certain events and groups on our blog and in our monthly newsletter. In addition, the OMPA publishes a weekly Jobs email for its members as well as put together the state’s Crew Directory.
In addition, we often see opportunities for work being posted on several FB groups like Portland Film Community, CrewUp Portland, Portland Film Collaboration, POV Filmmakers, Film & Media Community of Oregon, United Filmmakers Assoc (Portland) and Portland Indie Film Networking, amongst others. There’s even a Discord Channel for local filmmakers. You can also check out StaffMeUp.
We do see networking and Happy Hour events from groups like Women in Film Portland and Catalyst Film Collective. In addition there’s a Portland chapter of the The International Screenwriters Association and there’s a Portland Screenwriters Collective.
Experienced crew who are not yet members of IATSE Local 488 can be added to the union’s Referral List for covered postions.
