Oregon Film: Who We Are

SINCE 1968

Our mission is to promote the development of the film, television, commercial, and interactive industry in Oregon and to enhance the industry’s revenues, profile, and reputation within Oregon and among the industry internationally.

We try annually update details on our work through “Who We Are and What We Do” posts on our blog. You can find a few of those by going here.

Our Board of Directors is: Jason A. Atkinson (Chair), Rosemary Colliver, Paul Loving (Vice Chair), Liz Mowe and Anish Savjani.

Here is a selection of the many things we do:

  • Market Oregon as a filming location
  • Recruit out-of-state productions and retain local productions
  • Help make our industry inclusive and welcoming
  • Provide equitable opportunity for all
  • Liaise with producers & production groups
  • Help build the local film, video, and multimedia industry
  • Sponsor industry & community events
  • Work with partners to build and diversify the creative community
  • Advise other entities on creating filming regulations
  • Strengthen relationships with local communities
  • Provide consumer protection information
  • Serve as a spokesperson for the industry

THE OREGON FILM STAFF

TIM WILLIAMS, EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR

Tim Williams has been the Executive Director of Oregon Film since 2014. Prior to that, Tim was both an executive and independent producer for more than 25 years partnering on projects with many companies in various capacities and locations with credits on many award winning titles. From 1998 to 2011 Williams was a partner, Co-President and Head of Production for GreeneStreet Films, a leading New York based independent film company. Latterly, he managed the company’s opening and running of their Los Angeles office followed by work with companies like Fox Searchlight and Film Finances. Williams started his career as a set production assistant and assistant director in New York on features, commercials and TV shows, and then worked for several years producing and directing new plays on the London Fringe in the UK.

JANE RIDLEY, STRATEGIC INITIATIVES AND COMMUNITY PROJECTS

Jane was born and raised in England, where she received a BA Honors in Film, Television and Sociology from the University of London, Goldsmith’s College. She joined the Oregon Film Office after nineteen years of broad experience in the entertainment industry in Los Angeles and the UK, including six years in development for a production company with a first look deal at Warner Bros. Jane moved to Portland in 2002.

NATHAN CHERRINGTON, IT/FINANCIAL MANAGER

Nathan Cherrington has been with the Oregon’s Governor’s Office of Film and Television since 2008. He has a a BA Honors in Communication & Film Production from George Fox University and a background in IT and graphic design. Nathan is excited to be a part of the growing film & television industry in Oregon.

DALLAS BROWN, PROJECT MANAGER

Dallas is a native Oregonian with experience as a Location Scout, Assistant Location Manager, and Location Manager for various feature films, series, and commercials produced in Oregon. She has also done freelance work as a director, director of photography, assistant camera, producer, and editor on commercials, documentaries, narratives, music videos and live events. Prior to breaking into the film and television industry, she is proud to have represented the United States as a Goodwill Ambassador through music and workshops around the world in female empowerment, diversity inclusion, and anti-bullying.
